Subscriber Intelligence specialist will tap the innovation and expertise of the University of Edinburgh to develop enhanced predictive models and AI-driven capabilities
London, 12, August, 2018 – Singula Decisions, the subscriber intelligence specialist, has today announced that it has partnered with the University of Edinburgh, one of the world’s leading universities, to drive the development of new AI-driven capabilities within its next-generation subscriber intelligence platform.
The partnership taps into the expertise and innovation of EPCC at the University of Edinburgh, a globally recognised, world-leading centre of excellence in the field of data science, combined with Singula Decisions’ extensive 20-year heritage in pay-TV subscriber management. Leveraging the expertise and extensive intellectual property (IP) gained from supporting more than 100 subscription and pay-per-view based businesses across the pay-TV industry – with millions of subscribers in total – the partnership will see Singula Decisions work alongside the data science team at EPCC to develop more advanced predictive models than ever before, and to develop Singula Decisions’ AI-driven capabilities.
Bhavesh Vaghela, Singula Decisions’ Chief Executive, says: “There are many operators that are just at the beginning of their analytics journey. They understand that harnessing subscriber data can provide real valuable insight into their customers, but don’t have the expertise or the adequate infrastructure to deploy business models that can utilise this data effectively. Working with the talented and specialist data team at Edinburgh means we are able to develop our existing AI capabilities even further than ever before, and more importantly, means we can kick-start an operator’s approach to harnessing this customer data, allowing them to derive valuable and actionable insights from the get-go.”
As part of the partnership, EPCC’s data science specialists will work to enhance the existing machine learning capabilities within Singula® Subscriber Intelligence platform and continue to develop advanced predictive models and automated processes that enable operators to have the most insight-driven view of their subscribers – enabling them to take the best possible action at any stage of a customer’s journey.
Rob Baxter, Group Manager at EPCC, says: “EPCC has a long history of working with companies to enable them to benefit from advances in digital technology. Through the practical application of data science, our collaboration with Singula Decisions will result in better services for its customers and so directly increase the company’s competitive edge.”
The initial project will see a team of data scientists working alongside Singula Decisions’ internal business intelligence team to deliver the new enhanced functionalities, with Singula Decisions looking to expand its internal team with University of Edinburgh graduates.
